Line2 Update – April 1 First Batch of Invites Sent

Posted by Christina Lopez on March 31st, 2010

We are pleased to report that the DOS attack that caused us to shut down new user signups has been resolved.  Additionally we have added new server capacity and we are happy to announce that we are now sending out invites to activate service for those that downloaded Line2 but were unable to use their account.

We are very sorry for the frustrations caused by the delays in new user signups. Customer satisfaction is always our top priority so as a measure of goodwill we are issuing a $10 credit to those that downloaded Line2 and were unable to activate service.

We have started enabling accounts in small batches on a first come, first served basis to ensure we do not disrupt service for existing customers. The invites are going out based on when users first attempted to create an account, so those who have been waiting the longest will be served first. These account creations will occur over the next several days, with our goal to have them all completed by Sunday.

If you downloaded Line2 but were not able to activate service and you do not receive your account creation email by Monday morning, April 5th, that means we did not receive valid email and name information in your signup attempt.  In that case, please submit your name to our waiting list.  We plan to finish inviting people on the waiting list by the end of next week, with normal account creations to resume soon after that.

Our number goal is to provide our customers with excellent service. We hope the $10 credit will help ease your frustrations. We know you have heard great things about Line2 and we are eager to give you the opportunity to experience it first hand. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
